I think that's a fair date for this watch, but I don't believe the case to be original to the watch. The date letter, which appears to be "Y" would indicate 1923 as a date of production. Your watch is in a British hallmarked case (although there should be a third hallmark indicating place of assay, which should be a Birmingham anchor for Dennison cases) made by the Dennison Watch Case Co.
There should be a stamping under the balance wheel which would indicate the caliber of the movement, and that information may provide a date range for it's production. There is a great deal of information online regarding the history of Cyma, founded by the Schwob Brothers in 1862, and merging with Henri Sandoz in 1892 to form the Tavannes Watch Co., which contiuned to use the Cyma name among many others. I've only had it a few days but so far it runs perfectly. Regardless, I do like the watch and I intend to use it. The more I read, the more I become intrigued. I would like to get some more information on the watch and it's age. I'm a member on another watch forum and someone there stated that the serial number would likely be under the face. The only number that I can find is on the case itself. In fact I found another post on this forum where someone has a watch with a movement that looks nearly identical.
(dust cover?) On the movement it states that it is antimagnetic, 3 adjustments and 15 jewel. The front face (crystal) opens, and the back has 2 seperate lids. After a little haggling, I walked out with this watch and a manual wind Darwil. The owner let me take a look and stated that it had been sitting for quite some time. I was getting the battery changed in one of my old quartz watches and noticed this CYMA pocket watch the owner had on display. I have alway had a "casual" fascination in watches but I've only had a couple of pocket watches. Hello, As stated in the title, I'm a new member.
